COVID manufacturing survey completed

In April and May of this year, AMFA, CMMA and TSMA accepted a pro-bono offer from Diedrich RPM to develop and deploy a survey targeting manufacturers (members and non-members) in an effort to understand how COVID-19 is impacting our industry.

We learned that many manufacturers are challenged with excess capacity, disruption to their business, isolation, and uncertainty.  We also learned that while navigating our “new normal,” many have implemented strategic ideas and processes that we think are important to share.

Here are some quotes and requests from those who participated:

  • “Please provide a synopsis of this study on what other companies are doing.”
  • “The AMFA office staff has been very helpful in keeping us informed; this also goes for CMMA and TSMA for the webinar series – very helpful.”
  • “It’s a benefit to know that you are not alone.”
  • “Share best practices shared by others.”
  • “Provide up to date information on DEED, provide access to one source for nationwide updates.”
  • “Keep doing what you are doing! Keep the webinars going!”
  • “Possibly provide a list of employers willing to job share.”

We are reviewing these requests and looking at ways we can provide additional connections and services for our members. We are putting the finishes touches on a White Paper related to this research; this document will be available to members and friends of the three associations and to area legislators, news outlets, service agencies, and more.

Please contact the office if you have other ideas or insights to share. Your feedback is always welcome.  AMFA remains committed to providing the ongoing support needed to maintain the vitality of our manufacturing communities.
