CMMA will not host a manufacturing tour in September.\n\nCMMA Breakfast Meeting\n\nTopic: Overview of Minnesota's Workplace Safety Consultation Program\n\nEmployers who value strengthening their safety and health programs are welcome to engage Minnesota's Workplace Safety Consultation Unit (WSC). This presentation will provide an overview of OSHA\, and discuss the WSC program and its services. WSC provides free voluntary and confidential workplace safety and health assistance to Minnesota businesses\, with a priority for small businesses. WSC provides a wide variety of free services\, including on-site consultation\, training\, education and outreach in general industry\, construction\, and agricultural settings. Services are facilitated by safety and health experts who are highly qualified occupational safety and health professionals. No citations or fines are issued\, provided the employer agrees to correct all serious hazards identified by Workplace Safety Consultation. WSC also administers the MN STAR and MN SHARP partnership programs\, and Minnesota's "Safety Grant" program. Employers are encouraged to attend if they are interested in taking advantage of these services\, or are just curious and have questions!\n\n \n\nAbout the Speaker: Ben Wood\, Safety Consultation Principal\, MN Department of Labor & Industry\n\nBen has been a safety and health professional since 1994\, where he practiced in private industry until he began his service with MN OSHA as a Safety Investigator in 2010\, and was subsequently promoted into MN OSHA Workplace Safety Consultation as a Safety Consultant Principal. Ben was awarded a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Stout in Risk Control\, awarded Juris Doctorat degree from William Mitchell College of Law\, is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals\, and currently serves as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Risk Control Program at the University of Wisconsin Stout.
