Greetings to AMFA members, associates, and friends!

Summer is finally here and it’s time to enjoy the great outdoors in Minnesota!
 
The 25th annual AMFA Golf Social will be held on June 5 at Cloquet Country Club. The event is an 18 hole 4-person scramble. It’s not too late to sign up a team of golfers or become a sponsor. Your participation is very important as this is the biggest fundraiser for AMFA and we have a goal to raise $15,000 to benefit youth manufacturing programs in the region! Sign up now.
 
We had a great time at our last fundraiser – the AMFA Beverage Tasting on April 13 in Duluth. The venue, music, beverages, and networking were fabulous. Check out all the photos here.
 
We are very excited to welcome nine new members to AMFA: Attain Development, Bank of America, Bremer Bank, Healthy Food Ingredients, L&M Radiator, Inc., Northland Constructors, Rox SpeedFX, and Sheet Metal Solutions, LLC. See more details in the New Member section of the newsletter. All the new members are invited to register for the new member orientation on Tuesday, August 15 at 2:00 pm.
 
Businesses in Minnesota took a hit during the recent Minnesota legislative session. If you haven’t heard both the mandatory 24-week family and medical leave, with its large tax increase, as well as the cannabis bill were signed into law. Read a legislative update here.
 
Midwest Manufacturers, our home office, just announced they are starting a new printed magazine called Midwest Manufacturing. The first issue will include the 2023 Membership Directory and will come out in late October. Enhanced listings and advertisements are available now.
 
Once again Minnesota will celebrate Manufacturing Month in October. Offering tours of your facility can help change the public’s perception of manufacturing as dark, dingy, and dangerous. Find resources to help you prepare for and manage a tour here.
 
As we look ahead to fall AMFA is looking for speakers, manufacturer tours, and sponsors for upcoming meetings. Please contact Alisa with your ideas and information.
 
I would also like to encourage your registration and participation in all our upcoming events. We are here to help you succeed, but we need your help and your participation for us to continue to succeed! I hope to see you at the AMFA Golf Social on June 5!
 
Last, but not lease we need AMFA members to get involved. We are looking for committee members on the following committees: Membership Recruitment & Retention; Programs, Events & Meetings; Trade Show Planning & Execution; Education. Please let me know where you’d like to serve.
