People side of business important for success and survival
Hi, I am a new member. I was drawn to the group for several reasons.
First, I have a preference and respect for organizations that build or manufacture. I was the Director of Administration for Mn/Dot in NE Mn. I took satisfaction from being part of the team for building and maintaining of the transportation system in our region.
Second, I have expertise and passion for human resources (HR) and labor relations (LR). The “people side” of business is most important for success and survival. It is also a most challenging topic for these reasons:
- Many manufacturing organizations do not have human resource professionals on staff
- The labor market, the workforce, regulations, competition are constantly changing
- What has worked for us in the past, does not work now
- We need to change our approaches to get, keep and manage workers.
- A career as a senior manager in HR and LR
- A professor in HR and LR in local colleges and universities
- Service on local, state and national committees for the Society of Human Resource Management Society (SHRM)
- Years of consulting, writing and presenting to a variety of organizations
- Serve on the arbitration rosters for BMS and FMCS.
I am a disabled Veteran and the owner and CEO. My staff is comprised of experienced senior HR professionals who are assigned to projects based upon their expertise. Our objectives are to assist organizations and make a difference. We provide the vast array of HR services including but not limited to:
- Recruitment and selection processes
- Performance feedback systems
- Staff training, including leadership training
- Employee engagement programs
- Classification and compensation studies
