For immediate release: CMMA announces 2022 Central Minnesota Tour of Manufacturing
St. Cloud, MN ---- Central Minnesota Manufacturers Association (CMMA) is pleased to announce the 2022 Central Minnesota Tour of Manufacturing during the month of October. The manufacturing industry in Minnesota has designated October as Manufacturing Month, as well as a Mayoral Proclamation by St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis.
Eighteen tours will be in-person, open house tours, while nine organizations are directing people to their website with the option of by-appointment tours. Tours cover numerous counties in central Minnesota, with the majority still being held in the St. Cloud area. They will offer a firsthand look at the high-tech world of manufacturing and are open to everyone, including businesses, communities, job seekers, and students. Tours include:

CMMA prides itself in strengthening Central Minnesota by giving back all proceeds raised during Manufacturing Month. Proceeds are used to develop school scholarships, youth exploration, and career pathways. In fact, this year high schools who tour at least one of our featured manufacturers in the magazine will be entered into a drawing for one $1,000 and two $500 Career and Technical Education (CTE) scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded to the schools for enhancing their manufacturing career pathways. Schools receive free membership in CMMA and can attend meetings for free.

· Average annual wages for workers in manufacturing are $60,585 in Central Minnesota, well above the region’s overall average of $51,012.
· Manufacturing accounts for almost 40,000 positions and is the second largest industry in our region.
· Manufacturers take pride of their safe, clean, high-tech environments with robotics/ automation, artificial intelligence and 3D printing among the technologies being used.
