President's Letter - October 2020

Dear TMSA members,

Manufacturers in our region should take pride in our ability to continue to produce top quality products and services despite ever changing market conditions. TSMA is here for you as a source of stability, a source of innovation, a source of collaboration, a source of continuity to all our members.

We are also here to be a source of information during this election season. In anticipation of the upcoming election, TSMA’s Government Affairs Committee conducted a survey of candidates for the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives. Candidates shared their positions on the manufacturing sector. See the results here

It’s election time at TSMA, also. Six positions on the TSMA Board of Directors are up for election. Please take a few moments to cast your vote by noon on November 4 here. The persons elected will each serve a two-year term beginning January 1, 2021. Thank you to the candidates that are running.

We are also asking for nomination for the TSMA Member/Collaborator of the Year. See the article for more information. The Nomination Form can be found here.

TSMA is in the process of re-activating the Career Dream Team since the re-branding of Dream It Do It. See the article in the newsletter for more details.

TSMA is also innovating a new Manufacturer and Educator Solution Group. We are looking for three manufacturer reps to be a part of the quarterly online gatherings. Read more about it.

Governor Walz held a virtual Manufacturing Roundtable on October 14, which included our Exec director Sandy Kashmark and two TSMA members.  Read more.

You should check out our featured member article on Credit Collection Bureau, as well as the biography on TSMA board member Tony Hanson.

The Marketing for Manufacturers series continues to be a success. The November 18 webinar will focus on marketing your manufacturing business with videos. Register here.

Lastly, we hold your health and safety as a top priority. The survey of TSMA members was evenly split on the desire to attend in-person meetings. As such we are contemplating whether to hold an in-person holiday gathering in December. Watch for a decision and details.

TSMA, this is an irregular time in our country. Remember, we are here for you.

Regards,
Mark Petersen, TSMA President
