Free CNC Mill Training available through SCSU

There is an urgent and growing need in the U.S. machining and machine tool industry for skilled individuals – operators, engineers, designers and more – in the 30,000 machining companies across America. America’s Cutting Edge (ACE) is a national initiative to restore the prominence of the U.S. machine tools sector. Through ACE Teachers can receive free online training and also qualify for hands-on, in-person training at St. Cloud State University. No prior training or experience is required.

St. Cloud State University’s TEC Network has been training instructors in the ACE program since 2023. This program provides both online and in-person components utilizing CAD/CAM software and Haas mills to produce the working components for an air powered motor.

Technology and CTE Instructors can register for ACE training to utilize the curriculum in their school/labs. The benefit of the TEC Network is ACE trained teachers can request to bring portable Haas Mills to their classroom to have students complete their work in house. Just like other TEC Network equipment, SCSU staff will deliver the mill, review the use with the instructor and pick equipment up upon completion. Training will be free to instructors; there is no cost for equipment and materials will be supplied. All instructors need to do is attend the training. CEU and College credits will be available to successful graduates of the program.
