AMFA luncheon meeting at GPM, Inc. on October 10

Discussion and Tour:
GPM was founded in 1978 and has customers throughout North America. GPM has six office locations with OEM manufacturing facilities in Duluth. Today, GPM employs approximately 60 people.
They manufacture and distribute submersible and horizontal slurry pumps. A slurry pump is a type of centrifugal pump used for pumping liquids with solids-slurry. GPM also provides solutions in air handling, mechanical seals, gearboxes, material handling systems, cooling towers, valves and many other products.
PRESENTATION
Peter Haines will talk about GPM's company history and the markets they serve. He will give an overview of the products they make, sell, and service. And, learn about GPM's role in community involvement.
GPM is currently working with a group of students on a manufacturing project; these students will be on hand to share their experience.
TOUR
On the tour guest will see the entire manufacturing process of the company's OEM product, the GPM-Eliminator submersible slurry pump. The processes include: machining, fabrication, electrical, balancing, assembly, paint, testing, etc. The tour will also include the Service and Repair center.
GPM will provide safety glasses, no other PPE is required.
