CMMA January Meeting 2023

CMMA breakfast meeting on January 26
Meet at SCSU to hear from King Banaian! Tour of SCSU Engineering Labs
Topic: Economic Trends in Manufacturing Post-Pandemic
The appearance of COVID-19 virus dramatically changed patterns of consumption and production. Incomes were maintained but services were either curtailed by consumer behavior or government restriction. This led to a large imbalance in supply and demand felt first and foremost in the manufacturing sector. Those shocks are still reverberating. What is the next response of manufacturing in 2023? We will look at pricing, supply chain management and changes in labor supply.

About the Tour: SCSU Engineering Labs
Our students, faculty and staff are discovering solutions to real-world business and STEM research needs through the Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF).
ISELF is a multi-disciplinary student-centered science facility that encourages collaboration, experiential learning and innovation. Within these walls, students are gaining experience and hands-on training that only comes with working in the field. And businesses are gaining access to resources, knowledgeable faculty and staff and a strong pool of student talent. ISELF is a critical and complementary piece to all the other facilities in the College of Science and Engineering that empower our students to #unleashPossibilities.
Parking Information: Attendees can park in the 4th Avenue Parking Ramp. See Directions below. There will be signs on campus directing attendees to the correct meeting spot.
