When Variability Meets Capability:
AI Augmentation in Operations
AI Augmentation in Operations
Process analysis has long dealt with two factors: labor and machines. Each has distinct cost structures, capacity constraints, and tolerance for variability that determine when automation makes sense. The latest AI models introduce a third category that changes the economics- augmenting operators as they deal with judgment-based tasks. Using familiar operations concepts like OEE, capacity utilization, and bottleneck analysis, this session shows how AI fills the space between traditional automation (low variability only) and human-only work (any variability). Wondering how to go beyond chat to realize impactful AI value? This session will walk through specific steps for rapidly developing and deploying AI solutions in a low cost, low risk manner to unlock new possibilities.
