Speaker: Jeff Ackerson, President and CEO, Vector Windows
Topic: History and Expansion of Vector Windows
Jeff is currently the President & CEO of Vector Windows based in Fergus Falls, MN. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NDSU and also an MBA from Drake University. Jeff spent over 12 years at Pella Corporation in a variety of functions, including Continuous Improvement, Design Engineering, and Management. He was the lead engineer in the startup of a new manufacturing facility in Gettysburg, PA for Pella. After the plant was fully functional, he became the plant manager and led the plant’s growth for 3 years.
When the opportunity became available at Vector, he was excited to be involved in a smaller company that could be more responsive to its customers. He has been at Vector Windows for the past 16 years and has been heavily involved in growing the business by focusing on customer service, delivery performance and targeted product offerings. Their sales are now over six times what they were when he started, a compounded annual growth rate of 12%, and employment has grown by over 120 employees in the Fergus Falls area.
Tour: Vector Windows (new SECOND location!)
Vector recently purchased a building in Fergus Falls to support their growth and need for additional space. The building was previously used as a retail store and had been modified to allow for the leasing of five separate areas in the building. Vector demolished the interior of the building to open it up for manufacturing and warehouse space, including offices and breakrooms for employees. Currently, patio doors are manufactured in the new building.
