What You'll Do

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Park Industries, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading Technical Projects: Oversee all technical aspects of projects, guiding cross-functional teams to develop innovative designs that set our products apart in the market.
  • Mechanical Design Leadership: Take charge of mechanical design and analysis, focusing on machine structures, gearboxes, rails, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics to engineer cutting-edge solutions.
  • Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, product costs, and other critical metrics, ensuring projects align with business objectives and timelines.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Foster a culture of collaboration through regular concept and design reviews, encouraging input from all stakeholders to drive creativity and excellence.
  • Technical Support and Training: Provide expert guidance and training to customer service, field installation, and sales teams, and resolve customer issues with precision and expertise.
  • Leadership of People: Lead and mentor a small team of engineering associates, providing direction, support, and development opportunities. Cultivate a positive and productive work environment, promote teamwork, and ensure the team's alignment with the company's goals and values. Actively participate in talent acquisition and retention efforts, including performance evaluations and career development planning.

You will maintain standard business hours from Monday to Friday, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows for a mix of remote work and onsite presence at our office in St. Cloud, MN.

What We're Looking For

To excel in the Lead Mechanical Engineer role, you will need:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in design and engineering, with at least 8 years in leadership roles.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in analysis and root cause investigation tools, including simulations, FEA, free-body diagrams, DFMEA, and 8D methodologies.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in CNC or robotic equipment design, is preferred.
